At the Hydrogen UK Annual Conference & Awards 2026 in Birmingham, Methanol Reformer SL and PlusZero Ltd formalised a new collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at exploring opportunities to work together in the UK hydrogen sector.

The MoU establishes a framework for both companies to jointly evaluate potential applications combining hydrogen production and energy generation technologies. It reflects the shared ambition of Methanol Reformer and PlusZero to collaborate on solutions that could support flexible and on-demand energy supply, particularly in locations where hydrogen infrastructure is still developing.

This collaboration allows us to explore practical ways to support flexible hydrogen and energy solutions in the UK, combining our technologies and expertise” said Thibaud Vincendon, Business Development Manager at Methanol Reformer.

Combining expertise

The collaboration brings together complementary expertise. PlusZero focuses on deploying hydrogen-based energy systems in the UK, especially for temporary or off-grid applications. Methanol Reformer contributes its experience in methanol reforming technology, which allows hydrogen to be produced on-site from methanol, enabling local generation of hydrogen and electricity.

Through this collaboration, both companies aim to explore how their technologies can complement each other to address energy needs across different sectors.

Connecting with the UK hydrogen sector

Participation in Hydrogen UK 2026 allowed Methanol Reformer to connect with industry stakeholders and showcase its methanol reforming technology, fostering dialogue and collaboration across the sector.

About the companies
