PRESS RELEASE - Methanol Reformer and Fugu Carbon sign MoU to drive global deployment of e-methanol-based hydrogen and power solutions

Methanol Reformer S.L. and Fugu Carbon Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote the deployment of integrated solutions combining e-methanol production and methanol-to-hydrogen power generation. The agreement, signed on July 14, reflects the shared commitment of both companies to accelerate decarbonization through practical and scalable clean energy technologies.
Fugu Carbon, based in Austin, United States, develops, produces, and distributes sustainable synthetic fuel (e-fuel) feedstock, transporting that feedstock as e-methanol.
Methanol Reformer, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, specializes in methanol-to-hydrogen generator technologies that deliver clean power for off-grid, industry, main and back up system, mining and critical infrastructure applications.
The partnership reflects the shared vision of both companies: to provide integrated, low-emission energy solutions using renewable methanol as a feedstock for distributed hydrogen and electricity generation.
Key objectives of the collaboration include:
Exploring technical synergies between Fugu’s e-methanol and M-Reformer's reforming technology
Aligning commercial strategies to accelerate the adoption of renewable methanol-based solutions.
Evaluating joint opportunities for deployment in off-grid, mining, main and back up systems, critical infrastructure applications and industrial sectors
Identifying pilot or demonstration projects to validate the combined solution
The MoU paves the way for joint activities focused on real-world applications of green methanol, leveraging both companies’ expertise to support decarbonization efforts in sectors where fossil fuel replacement remains challenging.
